What we liked

  • +Formulated for an age group nobody else serves
  • +Gentle where adult products are actively wrong
  • +Appealing enough that kids will use it

What could be better

  • Upper end of the range is expensive for children's products
  • Deliberately simple formulas may bore a tween

Evereden makes skin and hair care specifically for kids and tweens, priced from about $19 to $114. The age band is the whole point: children past baby products but not ready for adult formulations have almost nothing made for them.

That gap has become an urgent problem rather than a theoretical one. Ten and eleven year olds are buying adult skincare because of social media, and much of what they are reaching for contains retinol and strong acids that are actively wrong for young skin. A range formulated for the age, that looks appealing enough to be chosen voluntarily, is a genuinely useful answer — and the appeal matters as much as the formulation, because a product a child refuses to use protects nobody.

The formulations are gentle and fragrance-light, which is the correct approach and also the reason a tween may find them boring next to the packaging they see online. That is the tension the brand has to manage and it does so reasonably.

On price, $19 to $114 spans a lot. The lower end is competitive with pharmacy brands; the upper end asks a real premium for children's products that will be used generously and replaced often. Buying the cleanser and moisturiser rather than the full routine is the sensible starting point.

Worth it for the specific problem of a tween wanting skincare. Unnecessary for younger children with no skin issues, where plain and cheap does the same job.
