What to check when buying a backpack or laptop bag

• The device fits by measurement, not by model name. Laptop sleeve sizes are quoted by screen size, and two 14-inch laptops can have very different footprints. Measure yours.
• Capacity in litres, which is comparable between brands in a way that "large" is not.
• Whether the laptop compartment is suspended — a padded base that keeps the device off the floor when you set the bag down protects it from the most common drop.
• Strap width, padding and a sternum strap for anything carried loaded. A narrow unpadded strap on a heavy bag is uncomfortable regardless of quality.
• Back panel ventilation, if you walk or cycle with it.
• Zips. A named zip manufacturer is a genuine quality signal, and zips are what fail first on bags.
• Water resistance versus waterproof. Most bags are the former; a rain cover is the usual answer.
• Empty weight, which matters more than people expect once the bag is full.
• Cabin dimensions, if it is a travel bag — measured including any external pocket when packed.

Before you order

• Compare the total at checkout, not the listed price. Shipping and tax appear at the final step, and on a cross-border order duties are added later again.
• Check the delivery estimate against when you actually need the item, especially for a gift.
• Read the return terms for the specific item. Sale and personalised items are the ones most often excluded.
• Check the product page specification rather than the category description — size, fit and compatibility details live there.
• Keep the packaging until you are sure, since most brands require original condition for a return.

How to use a Tomtoc code

1. Open our Tomtoc deals page and pick an offer.
2. Reveal the code — the Tomtoc site opens in a new tab.
3. Add what you want to the cart on tomtoc.com.
4. At checkout, paste the code into the Promo code or Discount field and click Apply.
5. Check the order summary shows the discount before you pay.

Codes expire, hit usage caps, or get withdrawn without notice. If one does not apply, try the next offer on the page.

How we list Tomtoc offers

We collect publicly available Tomtoc offers on one page and link straight through to the brand. We do not invent codes and we do not publish discount figures we cannot see — where an offer has no stated amount, it is listed as a deal rather than a percentage.
