Tomtoc Lineup Compared 2026: Console and Controller Cases for Every Handheld

Tomtoc Lineup Compared 2026: Console and Controller Cases for Every Handheld

Look at the coffee table in a lot of homes right now and you'll find a small zoo of handhelds. A Switch 2 for the kids. A Steam Deck someone takes on every flight. A ROG Xbox Ally that arrived last winter, a PlayStation Portal for playing in bed, and two controllers that live loose in a drawer, sticks pressing into whatever lands on top of them.

Every one of those devices has a different shape, and a case that fits one rarely fits another. Tomtoc, better known for laptop sleeves, sells a dedicated case for almost all of them. Olivia Reviews compared tomtoc's console and controller cases on tomtoc.com on October 27, 2026, device by device, using the brand's own fit notes, materials and US prices.

Quick take: Tomtoc makes three kinds of gaming cases: felt hard-shell FancyCase zip cases ($32.99–$38.99), clear polycarbonate Armor shells ($22.99–$30.99), and slings for when the device rides with your other things. For a ROG Xbox Ally, look at the FancyCase-G02; for a PlayStation Portal, the FancyCase-G04; for a Steam Deck, choose between the Armor-G12 and FancyCase-G38. For controllers, the FancyCase-G28 covers both Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 Pro pads. Compare today's tomtoc deals before you buy.

Three Ways Tomtoc Builds a Case

Tomtoc's names follow a pattern, and once you know it, the lineup is easy to read.

  • FancyCase: zip-around cases with a molded hard shell, plush or velvet lining, YKK zippers and a carry handle. Most are made from felt, which tomtoc says is harder and lighter than EVA.
  • Armor and ArmorCase: clam-shell cases in polycarbonate, closed with a lock buckle, with an opening so you can charge without taking the device out. The controller versions use a smoky, see-through shell.
  • GameOn and Arccos: slings and travel bags with room for a console plus chargers and extras.

Tomtoc says most of its hard cases meet a military-standard drop test. That's the brand's own claim; Olivia Reviews didn't drop anything. Treat it as a description of the design goal, not a promise about your particular fall.

ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X: FancyCase-G02

Tomtoc lists the G02 at $36.99 in Black and Gray, and in two $38.99 editions, Midnight Black and Cyber Black. It's described as "exclusively engineered" for the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, with a precision-molded interior shaped around the device's curves, ports and buttons.

Inside, a soft velvet lining protects the screen, and a dedicated pocket holds SD cards or a cleaning cloth. Outside, a lightweight felt shell, YKK zippers and a built-in handle complete the case. Tomtoc calls it "ultra slim," made to slide into a backpack or sling. Note the fit: the product images say it suits only the ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally. Tomtoc lists the older ROG Ally and Ally X as a separate category in its gaming menu.

PlayStation Portal: FancyCase-G04

The Portal is wide and shaped like a split controller, which is why generic tablet sleeves fit it badly. The G04 ($36.99) is precision-molded to its buttons, ports and curves, with a plush interior. Tomtoc points out the storage: room for the cable, SD cards, a cleaning cloth and small accessories, plus a top handle. The shell is high-density felt with a YKK zipper. It's the only case in this guide made for the Portal, so if that's your device, the choice is simple.

Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED: Two Shells and a Bag

Armor-G12 ($30.99)

The tomtoc Armor-G12 clear polycarbonate case open with a Steam Deck inside

The G12 takes the clam-shell approach. Tomtoc says it's made from German Bayer polycarbonate, with an armor-style exterior and a silicone strip inside that keeps the Steam Deck from touching the shell. Raised areas protect the joysticks and allow thin thumb grips. A lock buckle keeps it closed, a charging opening lets you top up without removing the Deck, and the brand describes it as splash- and dust-resistant.

FancyCase-G38 ($32.99)

The soft-touch alternative, in Black or Dark Gray. It has a splash-resistant hard shell, raised areas and precise cutouts around the joysticks and buttons, a padded interior with a shoulder-button buffer, and recycled YKK zippers. Choose the G38 for a zip case that feels like a pouch, or the G12 if you want to see the Deck through the lid and charge it inside.

Arccos-G47 Console Travel Bag ($54.99)

For carrying more than the Deck itself, tomtoc also lists the Arccos-G47, a Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED travel bag. It's the priciest piece here and a bag rather than a fitted case, so check its page for dimensions before you decide.

Nintendo Switch 2: The Short Version

Switch 2 owners have the most choice. The FancyCase-G05 Slim Case ($36.99) is made for the Switch 2, with slots for 12 game cards, a plush lining and a water-resistant exterior. It comes in Black, Dark Gray and White; tomtoc notes that Black and Gray use polyester and felt, while White uses PU and felt. If you want the console to ride with snacks and a charger, tomtoc's GameOn slings are the next step up.

Controllers: Clear Shells or Soft-Lined Felt

FancyCase-G28 ($25.99)

The newest and most flexible controller case. It's designed for Xbox Series X|S controllers and the Switch 2 Pro Controller, with a raised interior that keeps pressure off the thumbsticks (it accepts thumbstick caps up to 7mm), a plush lining with a support cushion, YKK zippers and a wrist strap. Tomtoc lists clear exclusions: it doesn't fit Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Elite Series 1 and 2, or the original Switch Pro.

ArmorCase-G27 for PS5 and PS5 Pro ($23.99)

A smoky, see-through polycarbonate shell for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro wireless controllers, with a charging hole and a lock buckle. Tomtoc says it can take up to 60 pounds of pressure. It measures 6.5 x 4.53 x 2.56 inches and weighs 4.2 ounces, according to the listing.

ArmorCase-G26 for Xbox Series X|S ($24.99) and ArmorCase-G25 for Switch 2 Pro ($22.99)

The G26 is the same clear-shell idea for Xbox Series X and S wireless controllers, listed at 5.9 x 4.7 x 2.4 inches and 3.7 ounces. The G25 is the Switch 2 Pro Controller version: a smoky-crystal polycarbonate shell with silicone dots inside, made for that controller only, and the least expensive case in the lineup.

Fit Checks Before You Order

  • Match the exact model name. The G02 is for the ROG Xbox Ally family, not the original ROG Ally. The G05 is made for the Switch 2 (2025).
  • Look at your thumb grips. The G12 allows thin grips; the G28 allows caps up to 7mm.
  • Read the controller exclusions. Elite and older Xbox pads won't fit the G28.
  • Decide on visibility. Armor shells show off a themed controller; FancyCases hide everything behind felt.

Shipping, Returns and Warranty

Tomtoc's shipping policy lists free shipping on everything with no minimum. The official store ships only within the United States, and not to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or several US territories. Non-custom orders are usually processed within 24–48 hours on weekdays, and delivery is estimated at 3–7 business days.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase for undamaged items in original condition and packaging, with tags. Tomtoc currently covers return shipping. There are no exchanges, so you return and reorder. If you bought a "Bundle Product Better Price" set, both items have to come back together, or the discounted item's MSRP is deducted. Tomtoc says you can claim a two-year warranty by registering your product with its serial number on tomtoc.com.

Does the FancyCase-G02 fit the original ROG Ally?

Tomtoc lists it for the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X only, and keeps the original ROG Ally and Ally X in a separate category.

Can I charge my Steam Deck inside a tomtoc case?

The Armor-G12 has a charging opening for exactly that, according to tomtoc.

Will the FancyCase-G28 hold an Xbox Elite controller?

No. Tomtoc lists Xbox Elite Series 1 and 2, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the original Switch Pro as not compatible.

Who pays for returns?

Tomtoc says it currently covers return shipping on returns within 30 days of purchase.

Final Verdict

Tomtoc's gaming shelf is small enough to understand in five minutes once you sort it by device. Match the model name first, then choose between a felt zip case and a clear Armor shell, and add a controller case for the pad that lives in the drawer. With free shipping and 30-day returns, the main thing left is the price, so look at today's tomtoc offers before you check out.
