What to check when buying home fragrance
- Format suits the room. Plug-ins are continuous and best in small spaces; reed diffusers are passive and slow; candles need supervision; sprays are instant and short-lived.
- Coverage area and stated duration, which vary enormously between products and are the fairest basis for comparing price.
- Refill cost and availability. With plug-ins and diffusers the device is cheap and the refills are the real cost. Work out the annual figure, and check refills are not proprietary to a device that may be discontinued.
- Ingredient disclosure. "Fragrance" covers a mixture, and full disclosure is more common than it used to be. Worth looking for if anyone in the house reacts to scent.
- Pets and birds. Some essential oils are hazardous to cats and dogs, and birds are especially sensitive to airborne products. If you have animals, check the specific oils before using anything continuous.
- Ventilation. Any continuous fragrance belongs in a ventilated room rather than a sealed one.
- Scent strength is subjective and cannot be judged online. Buy one before buying a bundle.
Before you order
- Compare the total at checkout, not the listed price. Shipping and tax appear at the final step, and on a cross-border order duties are added later again.
- Check the delivery estimate against when you actually need the item, especially for a gift.
- Read the return terms for the specific item. Sale and personalised items are the ones most often excluded.
- Check the product page specification rather than the category description — size, fit and compatibility details live there.
- Keep the packaging until you are sure, since most brands require original condition for a return.
How to use a Scentfill code
- Open our Scentfill deals page and pick an offer.
- Reveal the code — the Scentfill site opens in a new tab.
- Add what you want to the cart on scentfill.com.
- At checkout, paste the code into the Promo code or Discount field and click Apply.
- Check the order summary shows the discount before you pay.
Codes expire, hit usage caps, or get withdrawn without notice. If one does not apply, try the next offer on the page.
How we list Scentfill offers
We collect publicly available Scentfill offers on one page and link straight through to the brand. We do not invent codes and we do not publish discount figures we cannot see — where an offer has no stated amount, it is listed as a deal rather than a percentage.
