Flamingo Estate Questions Answered 2026: Returns, Shipping, Candles and Codes

The basket says $136. Two candles, nothing fancy. And yet your cursor hovers over the checkout button, because a little voice is asking all the practical things: What if the tomato scent is too strange? Will it get here before Friday's dinner? Is there a code? Can I send it back?

Those questions deserve straight answers before you spend $68 on a candle. Olivia Reviews went through Flamingo Estate's FAQ, shipping policy, membership and subscription pages and the product listings on October 20, 2026, and pulled together the twelve questions shoppers most need answered, each answered from what the brand itself publishes.

Quick take: Flamingo Estate's candles are the only thing you can return (single, unused, within 30 days of shipment). Everything else, from olive oil to soap bricks, is final sale. Domestic shipping is free above $150, orders take 3–5 business days to leave, and only one discount works per order. See today's Flamingo Estate deals before you decide what to add.

First, Who Is Flamingo Estate?

Flamingo Estate is a Los Angeles brand built around a hillside home and garden, run by founder Richard Christiansen, who signs many product notes himself. It sells hand-poured candles, soap bricks and body care, a pantry of olive oils, vinegars and honey, books, gift sets, and, for Los Angeles locals, produce and flower deliveries. That mix is why the rules differ so much from product to product.

Questions About the Candles

1. What are the candles made of?

The Heirloom Tomato Candle page lists a vegetable, plant-based wax, a cotton wick, fully recyclable glass and FSC-certified boxes, and says the soy wax is non-GMO and grown in the USA. The ingredient line reads Elaeis oleifera fruit oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, coconut oil and fragrance. Candles are hand-poured in Los Angeles, according to the brand.

2. How do I burn one so it lasts?

The brand's instructions are specific. On the first light, let it burn for 2 to 3 hours, until the top layer of wax has completely melted, so it doesn't tunnel around the wick. After that, don't burn it for more than 3 hours at a time, keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch, check that the wick is centered after each burn, and stop when 1/4 inch of wax is left at the bottom.

3. What sizes and prices are there?

Most 8oz candles, including Heirloom Tomato, Douglas Fir & Vetiver and Ancient Agrigento Olive Tree, are $68. A few newer scents cost $75, such as the Archangelica, Croquembouche and PrinsesstΓ₯rta candles. Minis (Jasmine Rose, Tuscan Rosemary, Adriatic Muscatel Sage) are $34, the least expensive way to test a scent.

4. Can I return a candle I don't love?

Yes, with conditions. Single candles can be returned within 30 days of shipment if they're new, unused and in their original packaging. Once lit, partly used or unboxed, they're not eligible. Candles sold inside gift sets are final sale. US returns of eligible items are free with a prepaid label, but your original shipping charge isn't refunded.

Questions About Everything Else

5. What about soaps, oils and honey?

All final sale. The FAQ says every pantry item, including oils, honey and preserves, can't be returned, citing safety concerns. The same goes for body care, soaps and skincare, and for anything personalized. Practical tip: if you're unsure about a scent, try it as a candle first, then buy the matching soap once you know you like it.

6. What if something arrives broken?

Don't send it back. The brand asks you to email its concierge team instead, and notes it doesn't accept returns of opened or used items.

Questions About Shipping

7. How much is shipping, and how fast?

Domestic orders above $150 ship free (shippable items only). Below that, the rate is calculated at checkout from weight and destination. The shipping policy asks you to allow 3–5 business days for the order to ship, excluding weekends and holidays, and to expect extra days over holidays. Tracking can take 48 hours to appear after your shipping email. If nothing has arrived 10 business days after that email, the brand asks you to contact concierge with your name and order number.

8. Do they ship outside the US?

Yes. International orders go via UPS, with charges shown at checkout, and import duties and taxes (including VAT) are due when the parcel arrives. One exception the policy names: bath and body products don't ship to Australia.

9. I live in Los Angeles. What extra can I get?

Local Friday delivery of produce and flowers, between 9am and 7pm PT. Order by Wednesday 9pm PT for that week's Friday; local delivery carries a $15 fee, though the Regenerative Farm Box and Weekly Bloom Bundle prices already include it. Same-day delivery runs Monday to Friday for $30 on orders placed by 2pm PT within the delivery range (no produce or flowers).

Questions About Gifts and Saving

10. Can I personalize a candle or send a gift card?

Yes to both. The Personalized Heirloom Tomato Candle ($92) carries a label hand-written at the brand's workshop; the brand asks you to allow 1–2 extra days for its calligraphers, and personalized items are final sale. Gift cards come two ways: a digital card from $15 to $1,000, valid online only, and a physical card from $20 to $250 inside an embossed box. The FAQ notes gift cards can't be used toward subscriptions. Many candles and sets also offer a Gift Box for $12 more than the Standard Box, such as Jurassic Vanilla at $68 or $80.

11. Is there a subscription, and can I combine codes?

Many candles and pantry staples can be put on repeat delivery for 10% off. On the Tomato candle that's $61.20 instead of $68, every 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks. Codes are stricter: the FAQ allows one discount per order, and codes don't apply to discounted sets, fresh produce, flowers or subscriptions. If a subscription item is in your cart, you can't use a code on the other items either. Before you pick your one offer, compare current Flamingo Estate coupons.

12. Is the Estate Membership worth $98?

It depends on how often you order. The membership costs $98 a year and lists free ground shipping on every order, up to 12 full-sized gifts a year (valued by the brand at up to $72 each, one with any order over $150 in a given month), first access and member-only products. It renews automatically after a year unless you cancel, and the brand says it doesn't refund partially used periods. If you order above $150 a few times a year, the gifts alone can cover it; if you buy one candle at Christmas, skip it.

  • Detailed candle care instructions and a full ingredient line.
  • Free US return labels on eligible candles.
  • Gift options at every level, from $34 minis to personalized labels.

What to watch

Who Should Order, and Who Should Wait

Order now if: you already know the scent you want, you're building a gift order above $150, or you burn candles often enough for a subscription. Wait if: you need the freedom to return soaps or pantry items, or you're buying one small thing and don't want to pay shipping.

How to Pay Less, in Order

  1. Test with a $34 mini before buying an 8oz.
  2. Group gifts into one order above $150 for free domestic shipping.
  3. Put your everyday candle on a 10% subscription.
  4. Use the referral program: the FAQ says you get $20 off each time a friend uses your name or email at checkout.
  5. Check the Flamingo Estate coupons page for the one code worth using.

Flamingo Estate FAQ

Can I visit the Estate?

No. The FAQ says it's a private residence and not open to the public.

When can I reach customer service?

The concierge team lists hours of 10am to 5pm PT, Monday to Friday, until 7pm PT on Fridays.

How is a digital gift card delivered?

By email. The FAQ says the recipient can print it or forward it, and it's redeemed at checkout with no extra processing fee.

Can I skip a Friday produce delivery?

Yes. Subscribers can skip or change a delivery by Wednesday 9pm PT, through their account or by emailing the concierge team.

Final Verdict

Flamingo Estate is easy to buy from once you know its house rules: candles are the only safe-to-return purchase, $150 is the free-shipping line, and you get one discount per order. Start with a mini or a single 8oz candle in the scent you're curious about, burn it the way the brand recommends, and expand into soaps and pantry bottles once you know you're a fan.
