What to check when buying clothing online
- Garment measurements, not the label size. Sizing is not standardised between brands. Compare the flat measurements against something you already own that fits.
- Fabric composition rather than the marketing name — it decides stretch, breathability, how it washes and how it ages.
- Fabric weight where stated, usually in grams per square metre. Heavier fabric generally means more opaque and more durable.

- Who pays return postage, since sizing is the most common reason clothing goes back.
Reviews are most useful for repeated comments — runs small, shrinks, sheer in daylight. One mention is noise; several saying the same thing is a specification the listing left out.
Before you order
