Apparis Review 2026: Is a $345 Faux Fur Coat Worth It?

Apparis Review 2026: Is a $345 Faux Fur Coat Worth It?

The first truly cold morning always catches you off guard. The wind comes around the corner, your thin trench suddenly feels like paper, and everyone on the sidewalk seems to be wrapped in something plush and dramatic. Chances are a few of those coats are Apparis, the New York label that made animal-free faux fur look expensive.

Apparis coats are not cheap, though. Most of this season's faux fur styles cost between $325 and $425, and the statement maxi coats go past $700. Before you commit, Olivia Reviews went through the brand's US store on November 3, 2026, checking prices in US dollars, materials, fit notes, the size chart, shipping costs and the return rules, including one discount detail that can cost you your refund.

Quick take: Apparis is worth it if you want a warm-looking, animal-free coat with real design, made largely from recycled fibers, and you will wear it for several winters. Core faux fur coats run from $325 for the Jane Coatigan to $425 for the Blair, with cropped vests at $245. Standard UPS Ground shipping is free in the contiguous US on orders over $200, and returns are requested within 30 days of delivery. Watch out for codes of 25% or more: they turn your purchase into exchange or store credit only. See today's Apparis codes before you buy.

Is Apparis worth the money?

You are paying for three things that are easy to check on the product pages:

  • Recycled faux fur. Many coats this season use the brand's PLUCHE faux fur, listed as 100% recycled polyester on the body, with a lining of 50% recycled polyester. Apparis describes PLUCHE as soft and compact with a velvety, uniform surface, and says it delivers warmth while keeping a clean, modern shape.
  • Design that reads as luxury. Wide spread collars, tonal faux suede linings, silver zips, hoods that sit close to the head, and fabric-covered hook-and-eye closures. These are the details that make a faux fur coat look deliberate rather than costume-like.
  • A conscious supply chain. The brand's approach page says all of its manufacturing partners are third-party audited through SMETA or amfori BSCI, and it lists material certifications such as OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). Product pages also carry an "Animal Free" label.

The value case is weaker if you want something machine-washable, or a technical coat for sub-zero commutes. Apparis coats are fashion outerwear first: the care labels say dry clean only, and you will not find down fill or waterproof ratings on these faux fur styles.

Who makes Apparis?

According to its About page, Apparis launched in 2018, founded by the French duo Amelie Brick and Lauren Nouchi. Their idea was to offer elevated alternatives to luxury fashion that put style and sustainability on equal footing. The name is pronounced "ah-pah-ree," and the brand describes its pillars as bold, playful, conscious and elevated.

Outerwear is the center of the range, but the store also sells knitwear, accessories, home pieces such as faux fur pillows and hot water bottles, kids' outerwear and even pet puffers. The brand also runs reAPPARIS, a resale program where customers can submit their used Apparis outerwear and apparel to be listed for resale.

Apparis faux fur coats to buy first this winter

The US store lists over 160 women's outerwear products. These six styles, all at full price on the day we checked, cover the main shapes, from cropped to maxi.

Elis Coat ($345): the cropped everyday coat

If you want one Apparis coat that works with jeans, office trousers and a going-out dress, start with the Elis. It is a short, boxy coat that sits close through the shoulders and falls just past the waist. A wide spread collar frames the face, there are slash pockets at the hip, and snaps close it down the center.

It is made from recycled PLUCHE faux fur with a tonal faux suede lining. The brand lists it as a regular fit and recommends your normal size. This season's Burgundy is a rich, wine-dark shade, and the Elis also comes in Espresso, Latte, Noir and a leopard print at the same $345 price.

Blair Coat ($425): the mid-length classic

The Blair is the coat for people who want more coverage. It is mid-length, with a stand collar and a snap closure down the front, made from recycled PLUCHE faux fur. The color list is long: Noir, Latte, Espresso, Granite, Burgundy, Dark Leopard, Light Leopard and two multi-tone versions.

Pay attention to the fit note. The Noir product page flags it as running large and says that if you are between sizes, you should size down. That roomy cut leaves space for a chunky sweater underneath.

Celina Hooded Coat ($395): the long, hooded one

For real winter, the Celina is the most practical shape in the lineup. It is a long, hooded coat with a relaxed fit through the body, and the hood sits close to the head so it stays put in the wind. It snaps closed down the front and is made from recycled PLUCHE faux fur. The brand recommends taking your normal size. Look for it in Burgundy, Noir and Espresso, all at $395.

Jane Coatigan ($325): the cozy entry price

The Jane is the lowest-priced faux fur coat on this list and the softest silhouette. Apparis describes it as an open, collarless coat with a soft V-neckline and wide sleeves gathered at the cuff, relaxed and oversized through the body, with snaps down the center front. Think of it as a cardigan that went to finishing school. It uses recycled PLUCHE faux fur with a tonal faux suede lining and comes in Espresso, Burgundy and two leopard prints.

Edie Pony Parka ($395): the parka alternative to a puffer

Shopping for a puffer? On the day we checked, Apparis's full-price women's outerwear leaned toward faux fur, sherpa and parkas, and its padded styles were in the sale section, which is final for refunds. The Edie Pony Parka is the closest full-price option if you want a sporty, everyday shape. It is cut from shaved pony faux fur in 100% polyester, with a hidden drawstring at the waist and a concealed silver zipper with snaps. The fit is regular, and the brand recommends your normal size. A croc-texture version is also $395, and a SANS Leather version is $375.

Solange Mongolian Maxi Coat ($745): the showstopper

For holiday parties and the one big night of the year, the Solange is pure drama. Apparis calls it a statement coat: collarless, with a long, dense, richly textured Mongolian-style faux fur, oversized through the body and sleeve, with fabric-covered hook-and-eye closures and slash pockets. The lining carries the Apparis logo in recycled polyester. At $745 it is a splurge, and a faux fox version sits at the same price.

Other styles in the range include the Brooks Coat with a silver zip front at $345, the Lillet Sherpa Bomber at $395, and the Sai Mink Coat, a tiered short coat with SANS Leather paneling, at $545. For children, the Lyle Kids Vest is $145, and for dogs, the Pluto Pet Puffer is $145.

Apparis sizing: how do the coats fit?

Apparis coats come in sizes XXS to XXL. The brand's size guide maps them like this:

  • XXS: US 00 to 0, bust 31 to 32 inches.
  • XS: US 0 to 2, bust 33 to 34 inches.
  • S: US 2 to 4, bust 34 to 35 inches, waist 27 to 28 inches.
  • M: US 6 to 8, bust 35 to 36 inches.
  • L: US 8 to 10, bust 39 to 40 inches.
  • XL: US 10 to 12, bust 41 to 43 inches.
  • XXL: US 14 to 16, bust 44 to 45 inches.

Most styles in this review are listed as relaxed or regular fit with a "take your normal size" note, and the model is 5 feet 9 inches tall wearing a small. The exception is the Blair, which runs large. Each product page also shows garment measurements, such as chest, sleeve length and garment length, for every size, so compare them with a coat you already own.

Apparis shipping: cost and timing

The brand's FAQ lists these rates for the contiguous US:

  • UPS Ground over $200: free.
  • UPS Ground under $200: $10.
  • UPS 2nd Day Air: $89.

Every coat in this review is over $200, so standard shipping is free. Apparis says most orders ship within 2 to 3 business days, and once shipped, standard delivery is estimated at 3 to 10 business days. Hawaii and Puerto Rico have their own rates, and Canada orders over $325 CAD ship free. Two things to know: Apparis does not offer price adjustments, and standard shipping does not include insurance, so make sure your address is right before you pay.

Apparis return policy: the 25% rule

Here is what the brand's shipping and returns page says:

  • Window: submit a return request within 30 days of the delivery date through the Apparis returns portal.
  • Return label: a prepaid return label is provided at no extra cost for US returns. Labels are valid for 7 days, and the brand says that if you do not ship within that time, the sale becomes final.
  • Condition: items must be unused, unaltered and unwashed, with all original tags and packaging.
  • Discounts of 25% or more: these items cannot be returned for a refund. The brand's FAQ says sale items and items discounted 25% or more, including through promo codes, can be exchanged or returned for store credit.
  • Final Sale: items marked Final Sale, including the Online Sample Sale, cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Damage: email hello@apparis.com within 72 hours of receiving the item if it arrives with a defect.

One caution: the separate refund policy page on the same site still describes a shorter 14-day window and a $12 restocking fee. Olivia Reviews could not confirm which text takes priority, so check the returns portal or ask customer service before you rely on a refund. β†’ Check the latest Apparis coupon codes and deals

What we like and what to watch

What we like

  • Animal-free faux fur, much of it made from 100% recycled polyester.
  • Clear fabric content and fit notes on every product page.
  • Strong design details, from spread collars to faux suede linings.
  • Free UPS Ground shipping over $200, which any coat qualifies for.
  • A prepaid return label for US returns, plus a resale program for later.

What to watch

  • Codes or sales of 25% or more remove the refund option.
  • The returns page and the refund policy page do not match on the window and the fee.
  • Dry clean only, and the FAQ notes new faux fur can shed a little at first.
  • Full-price puffers were thin on the ground on the day we checked.
  • Express shipping is expensive at $89.

Who Apparis is for, and who should skip it

Apparis is for you if you want the look of a luxury fur coat without animal fur, you like a bold color or print, and you care about recycled materials and audited factories. It is also an easy gift for someone who loves fashion, especially the Lyle Vest or the Jane Coatigan.

Skip it if you need a technical, waterproof winter coat, you prefer machine-washable outerwear, or you only want to buy on deep discount, since those purchases usually cannot be refunded.

How to save at Apparis

  • Rewards program: the rewards page says creating an account earns 200 points, and its redemption chart lists $20 off for 200 points. Members also earn points on orders, 250 points for a birthday and 100 points for a review. You need at least 100 points to redeem.
  • Refer a friend: the brand says friends get 25% off a first order of $150 or more, and you get 25% off for each successful referral. Remember that a 25% discount makes the order exchange or store credit only.
  • Free shipping: every full-price coat clears the $200 line on its own.
  • One code per order: the FAQ says only one discount code can be used, so pick the larger saving.
  • Codes: offers change often around the holidays, so check today's Apparis coupon codes before you check out.
